About Instinctive Outdoors
One map. One adventure.
The Work
Instinctive Outdoors is a map for planning real trips, not a feed of places you might never reach. It keeps the river, the trailhead, the camp, and the road in all on the same map. Decisions start with the ground itself.
Who We Built This For
Built for the person who checks a river flow before loading the waders, knows a dispersed site is not a reservation, and cares where pavement turns to washboard. Skill level matters less than attention. This is for people who plan because the details change the trip.
Why We Built It
The outdoors does not happen in silos. A river cuts through a national forest, crosses a logging road, and runs past a trailhead, yet the tools we use to navigate them have always been fragmented. The land is a continuous system. The map you use to understand it should be too.
What We Believe
Outside is not content. It is weather, access, season, pressure, and time. Public land is a privilege, not a backdrop. Preparation is the quietest form of respect for the land. Software is not the experience — it is the logistics. It should give you the lay of the land, then get out of the way.
The map is the first piece of gear.
Know where you stand.
